1. What this site is
PrintCalz provides free online calculators and written articles relating to print resolution, paper specification and book production. Everything here is general information and estimation. It is not professional advice, and using this site does not create a professional relationship of any kind.
The important one: the calculators produce estimates from standard formulas and typical industry figures. They cannot account for your specific paper, press, binding equipment or printer tolerances. Never commit a production run on the strength of a number from this site alone — confirm it against your printer’s template and specification. Please read the full disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.
2. Accuracy and no warranty
We take care to get the arithmetic right and to keep reference figures consistent with published industry data. Even so, the site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, nor that any calculator result will be accurate, complete or suitable for your job. Paper specifications, service requirements and industry conventions change, and a page may not reflect the latest revision.
3. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PrintCalz, its operators and contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special or exemplary damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site — including without limitation wasted print runs, rejected files, reprint costs, missed deadlines or lost business resulting from reliance on a calculator result or article.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where the law does not allow it to be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
4. Acceptable use
You may use this site for personal or commercial purposes in the ordinary course of preparing print work. You must not:
- copy, republish or redistribute substantial parts of our content without written permission
- scrape, crawl or systematically extract content by automated means beyond ordinary search engine indexing
- frame, mirror or embed the site so as to present it as your own
- remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trademark or disclaimer notice
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or any connected system
- introduce malware or interfere with the site’s operation or availability
- use the site in any way that is unlawful, fraudulent or harmful
5. Intellectual property
All content on this site — text, code, layout, design, graphics and the PrintCalz name — is owned by or licensed to us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The underlying formulas and industry standards are of course not proprietary; our particular implementation and written explanations are.
You may quote a short extract for commentary, criticism, review or educational purposes provided you attribute it and link to the source page. Anything more requires written permission — ask through the contact form.
6. Content you submit
If you send us a message, suggestion or correction, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use it for operating and improving the site. You confirm that what you send is yours to send and infringes nobody else’s rights. Please do not send confidential material or client files through the contact form.
7. Advertising and third-party content
This site displays third-party advertising. We do not control, endorse or take responsibility for the content of any advertisement or any product or service advertised, including print suppliers. Any dealings you have with an advertiser are strictly between you and them. Links to external sites are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement.
8. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, restrict or discontinue any part of the site at any time without notice, including removing or changing calculators and articles. We are not liable for any unavailability.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published here with the date at the top is the one in force. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
10. Governing law and severability
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the site is operated, without regard to conflict of law principles. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect and the unenforceable provision is interpreted to reflect its original intent as closely as the law allows.

These terms, together with the privacy policy and the disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and PrintCalz regarding your use of this site.
